What changes the price
- Storeys and roof pitch: a taller ladder setup and more moves.
- Length of eavestrough: a wide detached house has more run than a townhouse.
- Guards: screens must be lifted and reset (+$60 with us).
- Debris: the first cleaning after years without one takes longer; we don’t charge more for it.
When to book in Ottawa
At Ottawa Airport, November averages 5 days with a high at or below 0 °C and December 18.6 days (1981–2010 normals). Freezing days become more frequent in December. We accept fall requests through late November, with the visit depending on current conditions. November brings about 20 cm of snow on average and December about 53 cm.
Ottawa collects leaf and yard waste every week with no limit, but only in paper yard-waste bags or a reusable container labelled “Leaf and Yard Waste” (no lid, 140 L and 15 kg at most), set out separately from the green bin. Doing it yourself
A single-storey house with good ground access is a reasonable weekend job with a stable ladder and a stand-off. Keep the ladder at least 3 metres from overhead power lines and Hydro Ottawa poles, and flush every downspout afterwards: a clean gutter with a blocked downspout still overflows next to the foundation.

How often should eavestroughs be cleaned in Ottawa?
Most houses with mature trees need two cleanings a year: after the leaves fall in November and once in spring. Houses with few trees can often skip the spring visit.
