Where the debris goes
Boston, Newton, Brookline, Lexington and Quincy all refuse yard waste in plastic bags: it goes in large paper bags or a labelled barrel. Boston’s last fall collection week is Nov 30–Dec 4, Newton runs to Dec 11 and Quincy to Dec 18. Needham and Wellesley have no curbside pickup, so we haul the debris away for a small fee.
When to book
At Boston Logan the average high is 51.6 °F in November and 42.2 °F in December, and most snow falls from December on (9 in in December, 14.3 in in January, 1991–2020 normals). Gutter cleaning runs until mid-December; book early in a heavy leaf year.
